  1. Those who watched the event live know that it was emotional with President Bush speaking off the cuff, acknowledging having made mistakes, speaking of his love for this country, and professing his honest attempts to do what was best and safest for this country in trying times. He also praised President Obama and wished him only the best in dealing with the current problems (most of which were Democrat policies but which Bush did not say). President Bush’s comments were neither bitter nor partisan. While he is not as elegant of a speaker at President Obama, he is no less sincere. Right now, I’d rather listen to President Bush sincerely stammer about his Presidency than President Obama and the Democrats continue to recite their rehearsed and polished rants about President Bush and the Republicans after campaigning on their desire for bi-partisanship cooperation.
Whatever happened to gracious winners? President Obama won and has been sworn in as the new Presdient so the time for campaign rhetoric has come to an end. It is time for action which always speaks louder than words.
The current administration will be judged by history as to how they handle the current problems, not how well they blamed the previous administration for them. We did not elect a debate or speech team but a leader who promised action on the problems the country faces.
President Obama and followers, you won! The campaign is over! Now deliver on the promises of Change and Hope that were the mantra of your campaign. Save the rhetoric for describing how you are going to fix the current problems.
